We have arrived! Our plane from Singapore landed in Sydney and we were picked up by the hire car company and drove (initially on the wrong side of the road- oops!) from there directly to where we are staying in the Blue Mountains (with one very uninspiring but desperate stop at Red Rooster, where we nearly got caught in a downpour that sprung from very dark skies!

We were escorted off the plane by staff in PPE and paraded single file from one end of Chiangi airport to the other, whereupon we were herded into a special area for people from germy countries like Germany, and then collected by another protectively-dressed staff member and driven in a buggy all the way back the way we had walked, to then be pretty much imprisoned in our hotel rooms. 6 hours later we were collected in a similar manner and then deposited with the rest of airport society and allowed to mingle our germs with theirs, at the gate for our flight. Excited to be so close to Australia!!

…after we last flew to Australia, we are FINALLY headed there again!
