So this isn’t one of our best memories. Google Maps did us no favours and we ended up heading down a super narrow road, trying to cross a bridge that should probably only have taken bicycles. A super lovely local, after standing in his garden with his children and observing our predicament (with what may have been amusement), came and helped us unhitch so we could turn the van and car around, and head back in the direction we came from. Phew! We got to the campsite for the night and you could cut the tension with a knife. Things got worse before they got better, but after a meal of pasta with jarred sauce and a good night’s sleep, we were ready to go again the next day.
