This amazing city, from the late Middle Ages, is one of very few in Germany with its city walls intact.

So this isn’t one of our best memories. Google Maps did us no favours and we ended up heading down a super narrow road, trying to cross a bridge that should probably only have taken bicycles. A super lovely local, after standing in his garden with his children and observing our predicament (with what may have been amusement), came and helped us unhitch so we could turn the van and car around, and head back in the direction we came from. Phew! We got to the campsite for the night and you could cut the tension with a knife. Things got worse before they got better, but after a meal of pasta with jarred sauce and a good night’s sleep, we were ready to go again the next day.

Grandma Susie prepared a lovely brunch before we headed to the airport

So lovely to have the Pattens and the Grandies Passmore come to see us off! Finally, we spotted the Rhein and knew we were nearly ‘home’ (the other home; the one where we are all together, wherever in the world we may be).
Don’t you love Jemima’s smile? That’s when we were in the van that took us home from the airport, before we actually started driving. Ha. The driver was insane. He took on a massive truck and lost, so we were stuck by the side of the autobahn for at least an hour while he argued with the truck driver. Not what we had hoped for at the end of 24 hours of airports and flights!

Easter Egg Hunt in Kings Park, early on Sunday, followed by a service at St Alban’s, and seeing Genevieve! In the evening, the girls went to Grandma and Granddad’s evening service in Churchill Park for some baptisms.

Two different visits – so lovely to see Margie & David on one of them!

Lots of bouncing at Bounce, then lunch in the food court, and back to the Pattens for a play. (Lani got sushi!)
